SPOTI-FEWAPY: No 14 ‘MoFo. Fo’Sho’ by Charlotte Payne

The number 14 is especially significant this week. No, not because it’s Valentine’s Day, because we’ve hit the 14th installment of the SPOTI-FEWAPY series. Charlotte Payne from the world renowned Moseley Folk Festival is the week’s guest curator, and she has naturally provided us with a wonderfully folk-tinted yet all embracing compilation.
2011 celebrates the 6th year of the Moseley Folk Festival and is being held, as always, within the grounds of Moseley Park, Birmingham. The festival is particularly adept at persuading old favourites such as Jethro Tull, Donovan and Fairport Convention out of retirement as well as helping to break more contemporary acts such as Jose Gonzalez, Seth Lakeman and Tunng. Keep your eyes on the website for the very imminent announcement of this year’s line-up.
Throughout the rest of the year, the Moseley Folk crew keep themselves busy putting on regular shows with The Lunar Society at The Hare & Hounds, Birmingham along with a new monthly evening at Birmingham’s Symphony Hall called Folk For Free. Check the listings below:
